While you could easily spend a whole week at No. 2 Lakeside Lodge without ever leaving, we want you to have the best possible time and so listed below are some of the local attractions which we think are worth visiting if you can spare the time.
Historical / Beauty
- Arnside Village - The Arnside area is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. It has sites of scientific interest because of the rare butterflies and alpine plants that may be found around the limestone pavements.
- Carnforth Railway Station - The 1945 film Brief Encounter was mostly filmed at Carnforth Station as it was far enough away from major cities to avoid the blackouts necessitated by the war. The station has recently been restored to its former glory.
- Kirby Lonsdale - For those who like the outdoors and long walks, Kirby Lonsdale provides a beautiful landscape.
- Leighton Hall - The historic home of the world-renowned Gillow furniture making family, Leighton Hall is a great day out for those who love beautiful buildings and gardens.
- Leighton Moss RSPB Reserve - Leighton Moss is the largest reedbed in north-west England, and home to some really special birds such as breeding bitterns, bearded tits and marsh harriers. You might see deer too, not to mention butterflies aplenty!

- Blackpool - There's a host of activities to be found in nearby Blackpool including the Pleasure Beach, Sandcastle Water Park, Blackpool Tower and Circus, and numerous arcades, casinos and bars.
- Docker Park Farm - Just 5 minutes away from the Leisure Village, Docker Park Farm is a wonderful place for the children with plenty of different farmyard animals and an indoor adventure play area.
- Kendal Golf Club - From its elevated position, overlooking the historic old market town of Kendal, the panoramic views that unfurl as one plays the course are quite breathtaking.

- Morecambe Golf Club - Morecambe Golf Club has gained an enviable reputation for both the quality of its clubhouse facilities and 18 hole golf course offering visiting golfers a wholehearted welcome. - Silverdale Golf Club - Silverdale Golf Club's 18 hole course is set in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and also one of a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It has wonderful views across the RSPB Nature Reserve to Morecambe Bay and to the Lakeland and Howgill Fells.
